Insurance News - 6th March 2013

- Shakir Javid and Arijed Malik Iqbal were both jailed for making thousands of pounds through there orchestration of car crashes and submitting false credit hire claims.

- Professional Indemnity Insurance claims may now be dealt with using a claims handling service offering those clients who have a claim made against them dealt with at speed and where necessary appointing a solicitor quickly.
Graham Hearsey CEO of Professional Insurance Agents said we have seen claims increase a small amount but where they become time consuming for PII brokers is where the claimant is complaining about fees rather than their being any neglect by the consultant. This can often be resolved quickly by using a claims handling company.

- Willis appoints Wemyss to head up their Middle East, Africa and Central/Eastern Europe division.

- Marsh set-up a new UK corporate division headed up by Joe Grogan.
