Insurance News - 4th December 2012

- Lloyds is to consult over the line licences in the US Virgin Islands Kentucky and Illinois. It will be in talks with brokers, MGA's and the international broker association.

- Chris Blackham the former founder of Layton Blackham has been appointed as a non-executive Director on the board of UK General Insurance.

- Professional insurance Agents Ltd to consider partnerships with leading insurer and a broker in the USA. Promoting its Online Multiquote and Buy platform which already features many SME Insurance products, Office Insurance, Professional Indemnity Insurance and Commercial Combined Covers.

- Stephen Barwell is to head up business operations for Giles Insurance.

- It seems that brokers internationally particularly in Australia, Canada and South Africa are turning to mergers and acquisitions as a way to increase their GWP.

- Business Insurance 24 7 to launch new Multiquote and Buy website to include up to 20 different SME Insurance products with major lines such as Directors and Officers Insurance, Office Policies and Professional Indemnity cover.
