Barclays Staff Prepare to Resign - 29th June 2012

- Brendan McManus CEO of Giles who is well known in the Insurance market, has taken to the new job at Giles after his departure from Willis, leaving dear old Joe Plumeri and his bad tempers behind, in December he has the big job cutting the £37.4 million loss and has already said that flotation is out of the question at present.

- Groupama UK faces problems with the recent down grading of their parent company with standard and poor's giving the company a junk status. brokers are now becoming very worried and whether they should place business with Groupama.

- Rupert Villers of Aspen Insurance moves from Co- CEO to chairman of the company and president of Aspen International.

- Some contracts maybe exempt from solvency II Brussels may soften the impact of the new directive.

- Aviva appoint Sandra Stewart as there national sales manager.

- Professional Insurance Agents Ltd, new trading online Multiquote and Buy company Business Insurance 24 7 appoint 2 new members of staff in their IT department. CEO Graham Hearsey and Chief operating officer Graham Wallace said "we are flat out on software products both in the UK and internationally, and we need to expand our Insurance products and panel of suppliers, out IT staff will now write code for scheme on Professional Indemnity Insurance, Directors & Officers and Commercial Combined not only in the UK we are working in Italy the Netherlands and Canada on some very exciting online product for both insurers and brokers."

2. AXA have recently entered the B2C markets with professional indemnity insurance products.

3. Markel have also decided to offer online products such as professional indemnity and public liability insurances direct to the SME market.

4. Professional Insurance Agents Ltd have always been in the B2C market for SME, offering a wide range of commercial products such as office insurance, commercial combined and public liability covers.

5. Software houses have become brokers and software houses with companies like APC, CETA, Powerplace and Iprism are all offering brokers a range of SME products.

Insurance apps - 26th June 2012

The insurance industry is just waking up to the idea that smartphone apps maybe of great help to them when selling insurance products such as public liability and travel insurances although it is true to say that there are a few companies who have developed app facilities although it is still a very new concept For many insurance companies and brokers to get to grips with.

Those companies who welcome the development and idea of selling it's services via smartphone apps and tablets will be the winners as the new generation and users of this technology will not be going to brokers but using their phones to purchase insurances.

One such broker who has produced a commercial insurance app for android, blackberry a iPhone is "smartyapps" a trading name of professional insurance agents ltd who said 'we as an industry need to understand the changing face and buying habits of people if we are going to compete in this new world of technology.

Off Shore Tax Havens Being Targeted by Government - 21st June 2012

Film scheme are being used to help wealthy investors avoid tax in the UK.

The Inland Revenue are currently investigating a large number of film schemes where it is know thousands of very rich people are using these schemes to avoid paying UK tax. Jimmy Carr has been singled out by the Prime Minister David Cameron, suggesting that it is "not morally right" for stars and rich wealthy people to avoid tax payment while ordinary people pay their taxes.

GP's and hospital Doctors go on strike today over the Government pensions proposals where they want Doctors to contribute more towards the cost of their retirement, even thought GP's and Doctors get the highest retirement deal in the public sector.

Eurozone Must Sort Out its Problem Say Leaders at G20 - 19th June 2012

The Eurozone has to sort out the problems it has leaders urge, however Jose Manuel Barroso stated a pointed figure at other countries stating that "the crisis was not originated n Europe".

The debt has to be sorted or it could lead to the "single risk for the world economy". While Mr Samaras of the new democracy party newly elected in Greece call for terms of the bailout to be amended Angela Merkel the German Chancellor appeared to dismiss the idea .

David Cameron urged the Eurozone leaders to sort out the problems quickly. Small businesses, investors, and the banking system will all suffer if the Eurozone leaders don't get their act together said Graham Hearsey CEO of Professional Insurance Agents Ltd a leading financial lines broker in the UK and Europe other leading business leader said "all very well hosting a G20 meeting, but would leaders should stop playing with the Euro crisis and act now, that's what they were elected to do".
