Insurance News - 25th September 2012

-AXA get the title for the most complaints in 2012 above RSA and Aviva. They received 557 new complaints with RSA getting 412 and Aviva reaching a total of 435 general insurance complaints so far this year.

-Online sales are down for Brightside and has moved to drop both Aviva and Southern Rock as their sole underwriters for van and home insurance. One of the reasons was because the pricing of these products had become uncompetitive.

-Towergate try to strike a deal with Norwich and Peterborough Insurance brokers (NPIB) where the estimated purchase price maybe in the reigion of £8m plus.

-Professional Insurance Agents Ltd are set to consider the purchase of 3 professional indemnity brokers or a possible merge between the parties.

-Masson, the new boss of Swiftcover needs to consider how to bring the company back to profit after posting a £10.7m loss last year.

-Business Insurance 247 is to undergo a new branding bringing its many dedicated websites such as professional insurance and directors and officers insurance inline with the marketing drive. BI247 is 100% owned by professional insurance agents ltd.
